If you don't like the feel of that material and you are buying vintage clothing online, be sure to double check what the item(s) you are checking out are made from before purchasing. Some places do not like to accept returns on vintage clothing.
Looking online for 70's outfits is probably the easiest way to shop for vintage clothing. As I've mentioned on this site repeatedly, eBay has a great selection for decent prices. The woman in this video also mentions hitting Goodwill Stores. This probably works better for more formal pieces of clothing. My experience has been that eBay sellers often have the t-shirt racks and sport shirts thoroughly picked over unless you time your visit just right. It is really a matter of luck at the stores near me because there is no set schedule as to when "new" vintage items will be put out on display. I have never really looked for platform shoes at Goodwill, but I have seen them occasionally at estate sales. If you don't have many eBay re-sellers in your area, you might do OK with your visits to local shops. If you can, find out from workers there if there is a best time to show up and actually find items that are being newly stocked.
