Hippie clothing is pretty popular again. There are tons of reproduction shirts, vests, and who knows what else being sold online and in retail outlets. Much of it is overpriced and cheaply made however. People who appreciate true vintage clothing can see the difference and that is why there is still such a market for the authentic vintage clothing that is selling so well.
You may have noticed that many of the items shown off on this site are from eBay. Honestly, I don't know where else you can find the real deal vintage stuff for anywhere near the prices you find there. During my few visits to vintage clothing retail outlets I have usually been a bit disappointed in the selection and often shocked by the prices. That isn't meant to be a slam at the owners of those little shops. They are just doing what they have to in order to make a buck, but they have a lot more expenses to consider than your average person who found some hippie clothing from their glory days stashed away in an attic.
On eBay you can usually buy from the original owner. The owners of those little shops often have to find the stuff, buy it and then mark it up enough to cover their expenses and make some profit. They are an extra step between you and the vintage clothing you want.

The items listed above are all from the "vintage" category of eBay, so you should not have the annoying issue of running into cheesy costumes that rip and fall apart as soon as you bend over to pick something up. I've mentioned this before, but when buying vintage, always be sure to check on the actual measurements and compare them to a piece of similar clothing that you already own. Hippie clothing and pretty much all of the authentic vintage clothing you will ever come across was cut to different size specifications back in the day. It seems that we have grown a bit, so today's extra large is sometimes bigger than a piece of vintage clothing marked with the same size. You also have to take into consideration that clothing often changes size after it has been washed and dried a few times. As always, ask the seller questions if you aren't certain about anything.
